What is the PDF to Image tool?
This tool opens a PDF, draws each page exactly as your PDF viewer would, and hands you the result as a picture file. Nothing about the page is re-typed or interpreted: what you get is a pixel-for-pixel photograph of the page. Because it is a PDF to JPG converter free of accounts and upload forms, you can use it on a work laptop, a borrowed computer or a phone with equal confidence.
The reason people need it is simple: a PDF is a document, and half the internet only accepts pictures. Instagram will not take a PDF. A slide deck wants an image, not an embedded file. A marketplace listing, a WhatsApp message, a forum post, a wiki page — all of them want a JPG or a PNG. Rather than screenshotting and cropping by hand, you convert the page once and get the whole thing at full width, straight edges included.
Four output formats are available: JPG for anything you will share or upload, PNG when you want lossless edges for a screenshot or a mock-up, WEBP when file size matters more than compatibility, and BMP for the odd piece of software that still insists on it. Pick a resolution, press the button, and the pages appear as thumbnails you can download one by one or take away in a single ZIP.
How to convert PDF to JPG online
- Drop a PDF onto the upload area above, or click it to pick a file from your device.
- Choose your output under Format — JPG, PNG, WEBP or BMP.
- Set Quality / resolution: Standard for screens, High for most uses, or Very high when the image will be printed.
- Press Convert to Images and watch the progress bar fill as each page is rendered.
- Every finished page shows up as a thumbnail — click the ↓ badge on any one of them to save just that page.
- If the PDF had more than one page, a ZIP of all the images downloads automatically as well.
Key features
- Four image formats — JPG, PNG, WEBP and BMP, chosen from one dropdown before you convert.
- Three resolution steps — Standard renders at roughly 108 DPI, High at 144 DPI, and Very high at about 216 DPI, which puts an A4 page near 1785 × 2526 pixels.
- Per-page download buttons — each thumbnail carries its own ↓ button, so you can take page 4 and ignore the rest.
- Automatic ZIP for multi-page files — pages are named yourfile-page-001, -002 and so on, in reading order, inside yourfile-images.zip.
- Faithful rendering — vector text, embedded photos, tables and stamps are all drawn by the same engine your browser uses to display the PDF.
- Live progress — the bar and the growing thumbnail grid tell you exactly how far along a 200-page document is.
- Clean white background — every page is painted onto solid white first, so transparent regions never come out as black patches.
Benefits of using this PDF to image converter
- Your document is never uploaded. Rendering happens in the page you are looking at, so a contract or a payslip becomes an image without ever crossing the internet.
- No page cap and no daily quota. Convert a 3-page flyer or a 300-page manual; the only limit is how much memory your device has.
- Nothing is stamped on the result. No watermark, no logo strip, no "converted with" footer — just the page.
- Sharper than a screenshot. A screen grab captures your monitor; this renders the page at up to three times its natural size, so small print stays readable when you zoom in.
- Works offline once loaded. Open the page, lose your connection, and the conversion still runs — handy on a train or a hotel network.
Who should use this tool?
Social media managers
A one-page menu, price list or event flyer arrives as a PDF and has to go out as a carousel post today. Convert it to JPG at High, and each page is already a separate, correctly sized image ready for Instagram, LinkedIn or a Facebook album — no cropping, no white borders from a screenshot.
Designers and studios
When a client sends a print-ready PDF and you need the artwork inside a mood board, a pitch deck or a Figma frame, render it as PNG at Very high. You get clean, lossless page images to place, trace or mark up, and you can pull just the two pages you actually want from the thumbnail grid.
Students and teachers
Turning a single page of a textbook chapter or a worksheet into a picture makes it easy to paste into slides, revision notes or a shared class document. It is also the quickest way to put a diagram into a group chat, where a 40-page PDF attachment would just be ignored.
Web publishers and developers
Product sheets, whitepapers and reports often need a thumbnail on the page that links to them. Convert the cover to WEBP for a small, fast-loading preview, or to JPG when older browsers are still in scope — and do it without pushing customer documents through a third-party API.
Frequently asked questions
How do I convert a PDF to JPG without installing software?
Open this page, add your PDF, leave the format on JPG and press Convert to Images. The converter is plain JavaScript running in your browser, so there is nothing to install and nothing to sign up for.
Can I convert PDF to PNG instead?
Yes. Switch the Format dropdown to PNG and every page is written as a lossless PNG, which is the better choice for text-heavy pages, logos and anything you will edit later. WEBP and BMP are in the same dropdown.
Is my PDF uploaded to a server?
No. The file is read locally and each page is drawn onto a canvas inside your own tab. No copy is sent anywhere, which is why the tool keeps working with your Wi-Fi switched off.
Why did I get a ZIP file instead of separate images?
Any PDF with more than one page is packed into a single ZIP so your browser does not fire off dozens of downloads at once. The individual images are still there — click the ↓ button on any thumbnail to save that page on its own.
Which resolution should I choose for printing?
Pick Very high. It renders each page at three times its natural size, roughly 216 DPI, so an A4 page lands around 1785 by 2526 pixels. Standard is aimed at screens and keeps the files small.
Can I convert only one page of a PDF to an image?
There is no page-range box here — every page is rendered, then you download only the thumbnails you want. If the document is huge and you need two pages, pull them out first with Extract Pages and convert the small file instead.
Will the text in the image still be selectable?
No, and that is by design: an image is flat pixels, so text cannot be copied or searched. If you need the words rather than the picture, use PDF to Text, or run OCR when the PDF is itself a scan.
Does it work with scanned or password-protected PDFs?
Scans convert perfectly, since the tool only needs to draw the page. Encrypted files do not open at all and you will see an error — remove the password with Unlock PDF first, then convert the unlocked copy.
