What is the PDF to PowerPoint tool?
This tool rebuilds a PDF as a .pptx presentation: one slide per page, sized to whichever
slide format you pick. As a PDF to PPT converter online it does two things at once —
it renders the page as a high-resolution image so the slide looks right, and it reads the PDF's own text
objects and drops each line onto the slide as a genuine PowerPoint text box you can click and retype.
That combination exists because a PDF is not a presentation. It has no slides, no placeholders, no bullet levels and no paragraphs — only glyphs at coordinates. Any converter that claims to give you a perfectly structured deck is guessing. Here you can see the guesswork: the live preview draws a box around every line that will become editable, red for heading-sized text and blue for body text, and tells you how many boxes each page produced before you commit.
Use it when a deck only exists as a PDF and you need to present it, change a date, translate a headline or lift two slides into your own deck. You get a real .pptx file that opens in PowerPoint, Keynote, Google Slides and LibreOffice Impress, produced without an upload, an account or a watermark.
How to convert PDF to PowerPoint online
- Drop your PDF on the upload area. The panel underneath reports the page count and how many of the first sampled pages actually contain text.
- Choose what each slide should contain: Picture of each page, Picture + editable text (the default) or Editable text only.
- Set Slide size — 16:9, 4:3, A4 landscape or Match the PDF page exactly — and pick how the page should fit inside it.
- Drag the Page image resolution slider between 96 and 300 DPI, and switch the format to PNG if you want the sharpest text at a larger file size.
- Open Advanced options to limit the job to certain pages, skip tiny footer text, outline the text boxes, change the slide background, add speaker notes or slide numbers.
- Watch the preview, then press Convert to PowerPoint — the .pptx downloads with the same name as your PDF.
Key features
- Three slide recipes — a plain picture of the page, a picture with editable text on top, or text boxes alone on a clean background.
- Real text boxes, positioned from the PDF — wording, coordinates, size, bold and italic are taken from the PDF's text objects, so a line lands where it was.
- Five slide formats — widescreen 13.33″ × 7.5″, widescreen 10″ × 5.63″, standard 4:3, A4 landscape, or a custom layout that matches your PDF page exactly.
- Resolution you control — 96 to 300 DPI, JPEG at an adjustable quality for small files or PNG when fine print has to stay crisp.
- Page selection — type something like 1-8, 12 to convert part of a long document instead of all of it.
- Skip the noise — the "Ignore tiny text" slider drops anything under a chosen point size, which gets rid of page numbers, footers and watermark fine print.
- Speaker notes and slide numbers — push each page's text into the notes pane, and stamp numbers in the corner.
- An honest preview — boxes show what becomes editable, and "Fill slide" shades the area that will be cropped away.
Benefits of using this converter
- Your deck never leaves the room. Pricing, board slides and unpublished research are parsed and rendered locally, so nothing is uploaded to a conversion service.
- You can see the trade-off before you download. Most converters hand you a surprise; this one counts the editable boxes per page and warns when a page has no text at all.
- No watermark and no slide cap. A 60-page report becomes a 60-slide deck with nothing stamped on it and no signup screen.
- Tunable file size. Drop to 96 DPI and JPEG for something emailable, or push to 300 DPI and PNG for a projector.
- Portable output. The result is a standard Office Open XML .pptx, not a proprietary export, so it opens anywhere PowerPoint files do.
Who should use this tool?
Teachers and lecturers
Course material handed down as a PDF is hard to teach from. Convert the chapter into slides, keep the page picture so diagrams survive, and retype the headings for your own class — then use the notes option to carry the body text into the speaker pane instead of onto the slide.
Students preparing a presentation
You have a report, a poster or a set of paper figures in PDF and a ten-minute slot tomorrow. Pick the pages you need with the range box, convert at 16:9, and edit the titles so the deck sounds like you rather than like the source document.
Sales and marketing teams
An old pitch deck survives only as a PDF and the pricing page is out of date. Convert it, click straight into the numbers that need changing, and reuse the deck without rebuilding it slide by slide — no customer document goes near a third-party server in the process.
Consultants and trainers
Workshop handouts and client one-pagers often need to become slides at short notice. Match the PDF page exactly so nothing reflows, and tick the outline option to make each text box easy to grab.
Frequently asked questions
Is this PDF to PPTX converter free?
Completely. There is no trial, no page limit and no account. The conversion runs in your browser, so there is no server bill behind it and nothing is stamped on the slides you download.
Are the slides really editable, or just pictures?
Both, and it depends on the mode you choose. The page image itself is a flat picture, but every line of text is added as a separate PowerPoint text box you can select, retype or delete. What you do not get is structure: paragraphs, bullet lists, tables and charts arrive as individual lines, because a PDF does not record them as anything else.
What is the difference between the three output modes?
Picture of each page gives a faithful, completely uneditable slide. Picture + editable text keeps that look and adds the text boxes on top. Editable text only drops the image, so you get the words on a plain background but lose the graphics, colours and layout art.
If I retype a line, will the old text still show underneath?
In the picture modes, yes — the original words are part of the page image. Cover that area with a filled shape, or crop it, once you have edited the text box above it. In Editable text only mode there is no image, so nothing shows through.
Will fonts and text colours be preserved?
The page picture keeps the original look exactly. The text boxes do not: a PDF carries its fonts inside itself, so PowerPoint falls back to the fonts installed on the machine that opens the file, and the boxes are written in black. Keep the picture underneath and the slide still looks right.
My PDF is a scan — why are the text boxes empty?
A scan is a photograph, so there are no text objects to read and the panel warns you about it. Run the file through OCR first to add a text layer, or stay in Picture of each page mode and accept slides that are not editable.
Can I convert only a few pages of a long PDF?
Yes. Open Advanced options and type a range such as 3-9, 14 in the Pages to convert box. Only those pages become slides, which also keeps the .pptx small.
Does the .pptx open in Google Slides or Keynote?
It does. The file is standard Office Open XML, so PowerPoint, Keynote, Google Slides and LibreOffice Impress all read it, including the speaker notes if you asked for them.
