What is the Rotate PDF tool?

Each page in a PDF carries a rotation value, and this tool adds your chosen angle to that value and saves it, so Acrobat, Preview, Chrome, a phone and a printer all agree on the new orientation. How to rotate PDF pages online
- Drop one PDF onto the upload box at the top of the page, or click it to browse for a file.
- Pick your angle in the Rotation menu: 90° clockwise, 180°, or 90° counter-clockwise.
- Leave Apply to on “All pages”, or switch it to “Selected pages” to fix only part of the file.
- For a selection, type page numbers such as 1-3, 5, tap the numbered page buttons, or use the Odd, Even and Invert shortcuts.
- Open Advanced options if you only want landscape or only portrait pages touched, or to let auto-straighten decide the angle for you.
- Watch the preview — turned pages get a red frame and an “old° → new°” badge, untouched pages are dimmed — then press the Rotate button to save the fixed copy.

Does the rotation stay after I close the file?

Can I turn just one page instead of the whole document?
Yes. Switch “Apply to” to “Selected pages”, then click the page numbers you want or type a range like 2, 5-7. Every page you did not pick is copied through untouched.
What exactly does auto-straighten do?
It looks at each page's real width and height, including any rotation already stored in the file, and adds 90° to every page that is currently wider than tall. Portrait pages are left alone, and the angle menu is ignored while the box is ticked.
Will turning pages reduce the quality of my scanned pages?
No. Nothing is re-drawn or re-encoded — the tool only updates each page's rotation property and saves the document again, so images keep their original resolution and any text stays searchable.
Can I change PDF orientation on a password-protected file?
Not while it is encrypted; the page will tell you to unlock it first. Strip the password with the Unlock PDF tool, then rotate the unlocked copy here.
Does this work on a phone or tablet?
